About [AI]risu
So, what exactly is [AI]risu? How did we come to be? This section will answer your questions!
What is [AI]risu, exactly?
[AI]risu is a Jpop cover group consisting of Hisa Hoshimoto (of other cover groups such as Kaori Basket, SnM, SHINY Records and others) and Ayumi Hitomi (an indie artist and also a part of Kaori Basket and SHINY Records). They cover music with only one criteria--whether they like it!
Why [AI]risu?
Well, coming up with a name was hard work. If memory serves, it took us one or two days! We were originally working off of the English word "rainbow". So how did it get to [AI]risu? Well, Ayumi was looking up whatever she could about rainbows, and found Iris--the supposed goddess of rainbows in Greek mythology. Ayumi and Hisa worked with that word with a little Japanese, and [AI]risu was born.
Do you write the music on the site?
No. More can be found on that in the Disclaimer section. In general, we cover music written by other groups--so far we have planned to cover music from such groups as Morning Musume, Coconuts Musume, Ayumi Hamasaki, PUFFY and Yuna Ito. Nothing is out of bounds!
Who maintains the website?
Well, that's an interesting question and it has an interesting answer. The website is HOSTED by Ayumi on her domain, but the truth is she barely does any of the coding--it's not that she can't, it's that Hisa is much more skilled with it. Hisa did the designing of the website and codes the lyrics pages, generally. She often will email new pages for Ayumi to put up and all Ayumi has to do then is upload them.
